This NTN Ultra Class UELFLU series light-duty flange ball bearing unit with two bolt holes, contact and flinger seals, and an eccentric lock is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. This ready-to-mount flange unit has a one-piece housing made of gray cast iron for rigidity and vibration damping. Its solid base provides stability to the unit when mounted. The double-sealed, deep-groove NTN Ultra Class radial ball bearing insert in the housing accepts moderate radial loads and light thrust or combination loads. It has a wide, extended inner ring on both sides for increased shaft support and reduced inner-ring tilt for smooth operation. Its inner and outer rings and balls are made of through-hardened, high carbon steel for durability and resistance to deformity and are coated with black oxide for corrosion resistance. This self-aligning bearing has a convex sphered outer surface that compensates for misalignments. Steel-reinforced molded rubber lip seals on both sides of the bearing retain lubricant applied at manufacture and help keep out contaminants. For added protection, flingers on the inner ring deflect contaminants away from the seals. The bearing has an eccentric (asymmetric) self-locking collar that fits over one side of the inner ring extension to lock the collar on the shaft. A ball-point setscrew further secures the bearing. This locking type is suitable for applications where the shaft rotates in a single direction. This bearing unit has a brass grease fitting on the housing outer surface for reapplying lubricant.
